Fluids

It is no secret I love all things fluid! Water, juice, soup, ice cream. This was by far one of the hardest parts of my new heart failure life. Here is what worked for me.

I did not realize how much fluid I had been consuming until I was restricted. It seemed like everywhere I looked people were drinking something! I had to figure out a way to manage it.

I learned that 2000 ml is equal to 67.62 ounces. My YETI tumbler at work was easily 30 ounces! I knew I needed to trade it in for a smaller model. I like YETI because it keeps my ice and drink cold the longest. I traded in my 30 ounce tumbler for this cute, smaller, 18 ounce one. It comes in a variety of colors. You can find it on Amazon HERE. This is not an ad, it's just what works for me. With ice, I can have 4 of these per day.

Popsicles!

I was diagnosed in the middle of a hot summer. For a treat I enjoyed these popsicles as a treat. They were a life saver. They helped wet my palette longer instead of drinking a lot of water. You can find more information HERE.


I like these because they have no added sugar and are low in sodium and carbs. Plus, they taste like normal food. It is hard not to go overboard with these.
